The Ilizarov apparatus was applied and lengthening started in the femur and tibia at one level each.

The knee was unstable and would not have given any ability to walk unaided hence it was fused. Through the zone of fusion at the knee a length of 2 cms was achieved.

A length of 12 cms was achieved at each level in the femur & tibia to complete 26 cms of lengthening.

The entire treatment has taken only about 18 months.This is an example of Triple Level lengthening and is the longest external lengthening done in India.
