Dr. Milind Chaudhary along
with Prof. G. A. Ilizarov at Kurgan Russia in 1988. He has to his credit the longest limb lengthening performed in India. Limb Lengthening for increase of height has also been perfected by him and countless number of dwarfed children have had their height increased at the Centre. All aspects of the Ilizarov Techniques have been extensively practised by him. Dr. Chaudhary trained in Orthopaedics at the the KEM Hospital, Bombay in 1983; the Childrens Orthopaedic Hospital, Bombay and trained in the UK (South Shields & Sunderland Dist Gen Hosp) for a year. He undertook a fellowship under the pioneering Ilizarov surgeon in USA; Dr. Dror Paley; at the Univ. of Maryland in 1989. After starting the CFIT at Akola in 1989, he was trained at Prof. Ilizarovs Institute in Kurgan, Russia on three occasions-in 1990, 1991 and 1992. Dr. Chaudhary is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Govt Medical College at Akola. He has presented several dozens of scientific papers in regional,state, national and International conferences on all aspects of the Ilizarov Techniques. He has conducted training workshops in Canada, USA, and all parts of India as an Instructor and as the chief faculty member. He has performed Demonstration surgeries all over India. He has several publications in Indian journals ( Recent Advances in Surgery, Indian Journal of Surgery) and one in Orthopedic Clinics of North America as well. Dr. Chaudhary has trained more than 20 young Orthopaedic Surgeons in 6 month and One year fellowships from all parts of India. He is actively engaged in spreading the knowledge about the technique and increasing its popularity. He is regarded as one of the foremost exponents of this technique and leading orthopaedic surgeons of the country refer their problem cases to him. He is currently the Vice-President of ASAMI India.
